📚🌱 Celebrate Earth Day with Storytime with Cricket: "Everybody Needs a Rock"

Earth Day 2026 takes place on Wednesday, April 22, marking the 56th anniversary of this global celebration. This year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” highlights the importance of accelerating climate action through renewable energy, community care, and protecting biodiversity to build a sustainable future.

In honor of Earth Day, we invite families to listen to a meaningful storytime featuring Cricket from Teaching Responsible Earth Education (T.R.E.E.) reading Everybody Needs a Rock by Byrd Baylor.

Everybody Needs a Rock is a thoughtful story that invites readers to connect with nature, appreciate the world around them, and discover the beauty in simple things. T.R.E.E. (Teaching Responsible Earth Education) is a New Orleans-based nonprofit with a mission to educate children and adults about our planet, inspire them to appreciate the natural world, and motivate them to protect it. T.R.E.E. offers outdoor, immersive, experiential programming that serves 3rd–7th grade students in schools throughout southeast Louisiana.
